So who is behind the Camera?

Videographer Virginia

In 2000, Shaw Cable was purchased by Saugeen Telecable and she started working part time as Production Assistant. Virgina reported the occasional local event for Sautel's new magazine "Plugged In!". Her main responsibilities were VTR operator, studio and portable video camera operator for mobile productions, and updating the character generator for the community events calendar.

In September 2003, Virginia ventured from Listowel to London to attend Fanshawe College in the Television Broadcasting Program. During the summer, she worked for Fanshawe Student Union as Producer and Videographer. She assisted with producing, recording, and editing various presentations. For Second year college term, her professors introduced a "manager" system where students that showed dedication and advanced knowledge could extend their skills by applying for a volunteer position in a certain technical area. Virginia obtained Traffic Manager position where she was responsible for the timing, line up of commercials, and promos for the 4 hours of broadcast per week. This experience helped her gain a temporary employment position as Traffic Assistant at New PL during their transition to A-Channel London.
